I'm an engineer who'd climbed far enough up the org chart to stop getting to build things. So one weekend I wired a Raspberry Pi to a couple of LED panels and put my team's live score on the wall — just the Blue Jays, glanceable, always there. It fought me the whole way (ask me about the power bug that turned white text orange). But every friend who saw it wanted one — and when I built one for my best friend's birthday, he called it the best gift anyone had ever given him.
